" To Class or not to Class" ?!

Ok, so I have quite a few friends now with kids and I seriously am like the only mom who has never enrolled their child in some sort of "class"; examples: Gymboree, Kindermusik, My Gym, etc.... My reasons were always very simple.. she spends 3 full days a week socializing with her cousins and I didn't feel the need to spend the money to put her in a class where she was basically doing the same things she was doing with them. Now that she is getting older I feel more pressured ( not by any of my friends) to enroll her in "something". How do all you mom's feel about this subject? We are on an EXTREMELY tight budget but I know there are some local "parks and rec" programs that I could try...*sigh*.

I would appreciate any suggestions or advice regarding this topic.....I feel like she is learning stuff everyday but maybe I am not giving her enough variety with what she is learning? Ai ,yi, yi,.....

Hmmm...I think Olivia is way advanced and not lacking for anything at this point (she needs to come teach Bryce some things!). If you notice that she's getting bored, then maybe do it or maybe once the new baby arrives, she'll really get alot out of a special class once or twice a week. The classes are great to just burn some energy and provide ideas for us moms who just don't know what to do some days!

That is a tough decision. We are not involved in any classes at this point but we have a playgroup every other week at our homes. I think I enjoy it just as much as Campbell. It is great to talk to other moms about things. We are going to put Campbell in a mother's morning out next year for a day. I think you should do what you feel is right for you and your family. Mom/Dad know what is best!!

I agree.. I think Olivia is doing just fine and trust me you have plenty of time ahead of you to enroll her in stuff.. right now she probably just needs to get outside her usual setting and see a little more of the world. The park, playground, her cousin Kelsey's house :) and even the library are fun places to take her to explore and get more stimulation.

I took Kelsey to Irvine park and she took her baby doll in her baby doll stroller and had great fun. Ducks, trees, dirt, flowers that's what they like. Don't stress... Olivia's fine.
