My baby is 2...

So that happened.

My sweet little baby is now 2 years old.

If you ask him how old he is he still says "wum!" and holds one finger up.

If you try and tell him he is now 2, he will give ya dirty look. :-)

We had a little party on Easter Sunday, nothing major, just your standard bunny cake, cousins to play with, and a few presents kind of shindig.

Really, it was just my excuse to eat buttercream frosting. :-)

We're still here...

Sigh...no excuses.

Just didn't feel like blogging...a couple of those months, ya know?

Anyway, my three monkeys seem a little bigger now...in only two months you ask?

I don't know , maybe not. But it seems that way to me. :-)

Can you hear the silence? :-)

A day in the life of a first grader..

Olivia had a BIG day last Friday.

First, she received an award of achievement in Expressive Reading.  She was very excited and got to go up on the stage to receive her award. Afterwards as I was taking pics of her I detected a hint of "mom, I'm really embarrassed that you are taking my picture", kind of behavior.  Sigh...it was really sweet.

Then,...

The same day... she lost her first tooth!  Finally, after over 6 weeks of wiggling that sucker, it finally popped out.  The tooth fairy did not disappoint and at precisely 6:15 am the next morning ( while I was half asleep), I was given a full report of how she had a new dollar bill and fairy dust ALL over her room.

It was quite a day. :-)

22 Months

Wyatt is 22 months old..which means in two months my baby will be 2 years old.  Sigh...Seriously, the time has gone so fast.  Before I know it he will be starting Kindergarten.  :-(

Here are some things that Wyatt can do:

1.  Wyatt can chase his brother and sister.  He loves doing this and loves screaming at the top of his lungs for added effect.

2.  Wyatt can dip chips in salsa and make yummy sounds.  He lovessssss salsa and is VERY guilty of double-dipping.  Good thing he is cute.

3. Wyatt loves the trash truck, ...and the mail truck,...and fire trucks...and well , you get the point.

4.  Wyatt loves to cuddle.  He is extra good at doing it.  I would venture to say he is the best cuddle-bug EVER!

5.  Wyatt says the following words:  mama, dada, Olee-a ( Olivia), Hin ( Finn) , Nie-nie ( night-night), Goo-ga ( any type of truck), Mmmmm ( bus), wuh-wuh ( dog), eow (cat), nay-nay ( diaper), Maa ( his blankie), eli-ca-ca-ca ( helicopter), ouside (outside), and everything else is pointing and grunting.  In all honesty, he doesn't have any need for speaking..his brother and sister know exactly what he needs, when he needs it.  :-) hahaha!

6. Wyatt takes a 2.5 hour nap a day and sleeps from 7:30pm-7 am everyday.  In our books this makes him a certifiable genius.  :-)

7. Wyatt would play every hour of the day outside if he could. Good thing we live in SoCal.

8.  Wyatt just recently ( and I mean within the last week) stopped nursing..:-(  He is definitely a mama's boy through and through..:-)

9.  Wyatt's favorite animals are dogs, cats, bunnies, and well, pretty much animal is his favorite animal. :-)

We love you sweet boy....

Silly

When was the last time you were silly?

or

When was the last time you were silly with your kids?

Hmmmmm....I know that I constantly get bogged down in the routine of life so one of my New Years Resolutions ( and , yes, I DO believe in them)...is to try to take a moment each day to be silly with my children.  Laughing with them...instead of along side.

Life in slow motion...

We are embracing this new year with:

1.  Focus on each other and our family unit

2. Projects ( mainly home but some school ones too...:)

3. Lots of outside play...:-)

4. Taking time to speak to each with love and kindness

5.  Remembering how lucky we are in EVERY way.

These are the goals we strive for on a daily basis.  It's easy to become mired down in our own selfishness and laziness.  For me, I know that when I remind myself of all of these goals....life just becomes that much sweeter.

Oh yeah, then there's that school thing..

*sigh*

We are already a month into the school year and I am finally posting "first day of school " pics.  I know, I know.. bad mommy.  Don't forget there is a little 17 month old imp that controls most of my daily activities and blogging usually isn't one of them. :-)

The first days of school went very smoothly.  Big sissy was a little nervous about entering first grade but held it together well and so far ( after a few bumpy weeks) , she is adjusting to school really well.  Middle buddy also is doing well in preschool.  We moved him into three mornings a week instead of two and he really likes it.  I have realized that having a third baby had really put a damper on my one-on-one time with him so now I am making a definite effort to do more educational activities with him, etc... in order to ready him for Kinder next Fall.

Kudos to all of you Home schooling mommies out there...I seriously just do not know how you do it.  What a challenge it must be...:-)

Trains

What is it about trains?

I would have never believed the obsession until I had a little boy or boy(s), for that matter..

It is all consuming.  It is all they can do not to try and climb onto the little train to try and ride it themselves.  :-)

One morning very recently, my boys decided that the living room floor was much more agreeable for building their train track then on their dedicated train "table".  They could build a BIGGER, BETTER, TRACK!

Oh, and don't let the smiling pictures fool you.  There were quite a few squabbles as to *ahem* who this train belonged to and to whom that train belonged to.....mommy had to put out many fires that morning.  BUT, in the end it was a great lesson in sharing and learning how to work together.

Of course Wyatt preferred to act as Godzilla most of the time because ( of course)  knocking down the track was a lot more fun than putting it together.  :-)

Boys are soooo much fun!

A Tender moment..

I was at work when this was caught on film..

My dear hubby caught it with his cell phone...

It brings tears to my eyes..

I know, I know...but sometimes I just feel so grateful.

The bestest friend..

Sometimes,

i wonder how life could get

any better.

Then i open a bedroom door,

and see something

like this scene.

And just like that ,

it does.
